Some words from the man himself:

My name is Athumani Juma, I am 32 years old and come from the Nyaturu tribe of Tanzania. I am the first of seven children. After school I took a Tour Guiding and Administration course and some Wilderness medicine and Leadership courses. All of which help me when leading trips on Kilimanjaro. From trainee to licensed Head Guide I have worked on Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro for over 10 years and for last 8 years I has been leading groups as a licensed Head Guide for Ian Taylor Trekking. I have been lucky enough to climb Kilimanjaro over 150 times.  I have also climbed Mount Meru 70 times. I have a reputation for calm determination leadership and hope I inspire confidence in the people around me. I look forward to bringing more teams and people to the summit of Africa. I look forward to my up coming trip to Nepal and the Nepalese Himalaya’s and hope one day to reach the summit of Mt. Everest along with many other climbs.

If you would like to help me raise funds for future climbs in preparation for climbing Mt. Everest please contact ian@iantaylortrekking.com he is funding my trip to Island peak in 2017. If I want to climb bigger peaks and represent my country on the world’s highest mountain I need help. We look forward to hearing from you.
