We have finally, been recognized in Nepal for running high quality treks and expeditions, winning the International Tourism Award for Ian Taylor Trekking. It is a great privilege to receive this award, 15 years in the making. We received some other great news this week. Our head Guide on Kilimanjaro was recognized as the best guide out of 2,000 guides on Mount Kilimanjaro in 2019. This has been a great year for all our teams around the world.
What Makes us Different
Our goal has always been to run trips with the best service as well as, the safest trips to high altitude. Developing our unique itineraries comes from years of on the ground experience. I have lead over 35 treks to Everest Base Camp, trekked numerous times in the Annapurna region. I have also led treks in other regions to fully understand how to make our trips different. We developed a sleeping at Everest Base Camp itinerary in 2015 that has been highly successful.
What we Have Learned
To run the best itineraries with the best acclimatization giving you the safest trips. We are on the ground constantly evaluating all aspects of the trips. Here are some of the things we have learned. Firstly, acclimatization is everything. Secondly, you have to give specific training advice so people come fully prepared. Thirdly, we have limited numbers on treks to a maximum of 10 people. Finally, for every group of 10 we have 4 guides per group. Read some reviews from our trips.
Only the Best Acclimatization
We also have more acclimatization on all our trips, with 3 nights in Namche Bazaar. Remember you are coming to relax and enjoy the journey. Why would you come to cut corners and get sick. Trust me, there are far too many rescues happening in the Everest region. We will still have 2 nights in Dingbouche and one additional night on the way down in Tengbouche to break up the long day from Pheriche to Namche.
