Award Winning Everest Treks

Ian has climbed Everest and led over 45 treks to Everest Base Camp.  We highly recommend having 3 nights in Namche Bazaar 3,440m/ 11,286 feet on the way up to Base Camp. This offers you a safer and more enjoyable experience on the adventure.

In 2019 Ian Taylor Trekking won the international tourism award for running the best Everest treks. We offer over 30 treks to Mount Everest each year and hope you will join us. We have people joining our treks from around the world.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp

We have four guides for every group of ten trekkers on the trail. This is not the norm in the Everest Region or trekking in Nepal. We have more guides on our trips for your safety. This makes sure all of our teams have the best chance at safely reaching their goal.

With more staff on the trail, we can manage your safety more efficiently. We also provide a richer, more enjoyable experience along the way. Here are 20 reasons to pick us for your trek to Mount Everest.

Training for the Everest Base Camp Trek

95% Success on our Everest Treks

We have a 95% success rate on our Everest base camp treks to date.  On most trips we get 100% success if people show up physically prepared. Less than 60% of people are making it all the way up to Everest Base Camp at 5,364m/ 17,598 feet. Even less make it up Kala Patthar 5,645m/ 18,520 feet. Hiking up Kala Patthar is one of the main reasons to make this adventure.

Unique Everest Base Camp Trekking Itineraries

Sleeping at Everest Base Camp – Our most popular trek to Mount Everest includes sleeping at Everest Base Camp. This itinerary is slightly longer but worth the effort to hike up Kala Patthar for sunset. After experiencing the sun setting on Mount Everest, the following day you will hike into Everest Base Camp and sleeping at the base of the World’s Highest Mountain. You can even get married there!

Traditional Everest Trek – One of our most popular Everest trekking itineraries follows the original trail to Mount Everest. Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa climbed Mount Everest in 1953 and they used this route to reach Everest Base Camp (EBC). Back then Everest Base Camp was in GoraK Shep. The Everest Base Camp we know was Camp 1. Our EBC trekkers are literally “following in the footsteps” of the greats: Hillary and Tenzing and all the 400 team members that helped them reach the summit of Mount Everest.

Pheriche Nepal

Other Amazing Treks in the Everest Region

Everest Via Gokyo Lakes – This is a challenging trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. Our itinerary includes hiking up Gokyo Ri along with crossing the amazing Cho La Pass. This trek also includes trekking into Everest Base Camp and hiking up the Famous Kala Patthar. Kala Patthar offers you the classic view of Mount Everest.

Three Passes Trek – This is our most challenging Everest Base Camp Trek. Our itinerary has been carefully crafted to give you the best chance of success, with extra acclimatization built in at every stage. By crossing the three iconic High Passes of the Everest Region, you’ll experience a safer journey and a more rewarding adventure. Contact us for further information.

Other Trekking Options – We have developed a few other itineraries that just trek to Namche Bazaar. You can experience the Sherpa Capital and surrounding hills and get great views of Mount Everest. We have treks to Ama Dablam Base Camp and you can also trek to Gokyo Lakes and back to Lukla.
