Sleeping at Everest Base Camp 2019

We just arrived back from an amazing Everest Base Camp trek with the folks from Ian Taylor trekking. I rarely take the time to write reviews but we all agreed that their operation deserves to highlighted as a superior option for anyone choosing to do some serious trekking. There is honestly no detail too small that they have not handled or can handle. Their approach to service and making your experience far superior while dealing with many variables (illness, weather, logistical issues, etc.) is truly remarkable. Our guides were tremendous and the folks on the ground in Nepal made everything go smoothly and they always made you feel as though your best interest was the only thing that mattered to them. We would highly recommend Ian Taylor trekking to anyone who is interested in a comprehensive, detailed approach to an exciting adventure.

I Just wanted to say thank you for an epic and professionally run trek. Most enjoyable and unforgettable experience. Your Staff in Nepal are a credit to your company and feel an extra mention is needed to say how good they were. From the moment I landed at the airport to the hotel and all the way through the trek they were fantastic. Always went that extra mile to make sure we were ok and everything was good. Also I could not fault the information and tips I received before the trek, all contributed to a successful and fruitful mission!! I would not hesitate to use again or recommend Ian Taylor Trekking. My problem now is how do I top this...

Everest Base Camp Trek May 2019

We went on the Everest st Base Camp Trek May 2019 and we couldn't say better things about Ian Taylor Trekking and our guides. Our trip was absolutely fantastic. Our lead guide (Kami) was phenomenal. We went a slow and steady pace the entire journey providing us time to acclimate and recover with each step along the way. Other groups would wiz by only to be found later stopped for long periods of time trying to catch their breath. The pace honestly made the trip for us. We were able to really take in the views, drink plenty of water, and continuously be able to acclimate throughout the climb. The accommodations were fantastic. We stayed in the best tea houses along the way and the food was delicious. Our guides were very caring the entire way through and provided immense support throughout our trek. We had 100% success on reaching base camp in our group and although it was a difficult trek, we felt great when we got there! The knowledge of our guides was top notch. We made sure that each and everyday we drank 5L of water and ate a full breakfast lunch and dinner. It was difficult at times, but we stayed healthy, our muscles weren't sore, and we had no signs or symptoms of altitude sickness. We followed the packing list and all the information provided by Ian Taylor Trek king and didn't need anything else. We had everything we needed to make the journey successful and comfortable. We will absolutely be thinking about Ian Taylor Trekking when we make our choice to trek across the world again! Thank you for having such a great company and the best guides on the mountain!

Everest by Helicopter

Thank you for setting up our trip to Nepal.  Melissa and I had a wonderful time and were able to see a lot of Kathmandu and the Himalaya mountains.  The helicopter tour to Lukla and Mount Everest was more than I hoped for.  To be so close to those wonderful mountains and have a crystal clear day to enjoy them was incredible.  That ride was, for me, the high point of the trip.
The presence of Dawa Sherpa made the time in Nepal very comforting for Melissa and me.  The helicopter excursion would not have been possible had he not hovered over us like a mother hen.  His hovering was greatly appreciated. Nepal is a long way from Indiana but we never felt alone.  Dawa is a wonderful resource for Ian Taylor.
Thank you again for making a terrific trip possible for the two of us.  I know Melissa is starting to plan for Kilimanjaro in summer 2020.  We have confidence she will be in good hands.
Sincerely, Louis Bixler

Apologies for taking so long to get on to you but once I got back I was straight back into work.... Anyway, I am writing to say a really BIG thank you for making my dream come true to be able to go to Base Camp and enjoy it. Yes, it was a absolutely great trip for me, tough at time particularly in the last few days as altitude gets to you, I never thought packing away a sleeping bag needed careful planning and careful execution of same , I laugh at that now but boy it could knock the sock off you.... Ha ha. But seriously thank you for the great team of people you have in Kathmandu Dawa and Kay are super, so helpful and organised. and as for the team of sherpas which carefully guided us and entertained us they are simply the best.. saying thank you seems so little in comparison for what you did for us. but thank you again,  I am and will be recommending you to anyone who asks "who did you go with?
Wishing you both a very Merry Xmas and a very happy new year. A very grateful  and happy trekker,  best wishes Colette Culver.

Namaste, Awesome!!!! Ian Taylor Trekking!! There are no words that can truly express my gratitude to you Ian, and Laura. My experience on September 2019 sleep at EBC trek is beyond words. From the moment I found you on Google to our first communication I knew I was dealing with a professional company that I was willing to put my safety with and one that reassured my wife I had found the right company. When I applied for the trip I knew that your company was more than serious about the well being of not only you but the rest of the team, by your screening process. Your concern for us was so apparent at the airport with the smiling face of Dawa Chirri Sherpa and driver. Dawa and wife Kay are a team that enriched my cultural experience of Nepal, the 4 days before and 3 days after the trip. Your concern for your clients safety and concerns for an enjoyable positive experience by stressing training, training training made my experience nothing but enjoyable. 14 days of enjoyable trekking, laughing, joking, and feelings of major accomplishment. When I was 50 I hiked Kilimanjaro, with another company, and was concerned at 63 I would have the same experience, massive headaches for days, nausea, confusion, hard time breathing, and enjoyable views thinking this was what was normal. I can tell you if you adhere to the training you may be challenged when you need to be . I can tell you I was so well prepared by you. Thank you. The time spent with our support team was one of family as we were all so we'll prepared. Head guide Pasang Lama Sherpa was unreal what a great person along with Gelbu Lama Sherpa, Dawa Lama Sherpa and Tendi Sherpa were spot on every minute of the day doing things before you even would asked.. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome is the only way to describe these men. Ian and Laura you ought to be so proud of your company and the wonderful things you have done for people like me. Even above that how you have impacted,in a most positive way,the people of the villages and tribes all over the the hiking world. May God continue to bless your wonderful work. Subra din, George

Sleeping at Everest Base Camp March 2021

Thank you Thank you Thank you .

If I say I had the trip of my life time, that would be putting it in words mildly. This trip was everything that I imagined in my wildest imaginations/dreams and some more.

Choosing Ian  Taylor Trekking Team (I3T) to guide us through this endeavor was one of the best decisions. I can’t take any credit for it because I considered and accepted Hari’s endorsement.

To me Laura you are the I3T team.  I say that because you were my one stop contact for everything.  Your guidance, support, promptness in responding to my mostly novice queries is one of key elements of this success. And for that and everything else I convey my gratitude to you from the bottom of my heart.  Needless to say if ever I plan another excursion like this you will be my go to team.

The I3T team in Kathmandu; Dawa and Sonam seems to have a magic wand under their sleeves.   They arranged/organized everything that we desired within no time and were there for us every step of the way.  Heartfelt thanks to both Dawa and Sonam for their continued help and support.

Pasang, Tendi, Dilip and Chander, the phrase “SERVICE WITH A SMILE  defines them.

We did not spend as much time with Dilip and Chander because they are sprinters.  They would generally start after us and would reach the desired stop before us.  Because of them we always had our duffle bags waiting for us in the room when we arrived.  Both Dilip and Chander are sweethearts.  Appreciation for both of them and I wish them happiness, health and success forever.

Pasang Dada as I generally called him.  Dada is a term for an elder brother in Hindi, although he is younger than me in age.  Pasang truly acted as an elder brother whose main goal for us was to enjoy and succeed in our effort.  He wore different hats and changed them as needed.  In addition to our associate he was also a mentor, entertainer,  team physician and nutritionist.  His guidance and backings is another key element of our success.  Thank you PASANG DADA for your wittiness and morale boost that made this trip fun and frolics.  And one last announcement for DADA “BHOOL NA JANNA” which means please don’t forget us ever.  Please share this with him and I am sure this will put a smile on his face.

Tandy is a man of few words but his dedication and thoughtful preparations day after day was another key element of our accomplishment.   Tandy somehow knew that we were having difficulty on climbing or descending and would always strategically place himself at a position where he could lend us his support.  I remember his support during the first hour of Kala Patthar descending not just made it safe, but also faster.  Tendi also thanks for taking several pictures from multiple cameras and help us share our experiences with friends and family.  SMILE TENDI SMILE .

In summary THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING OUR DREAM OF REACHING EBC A REALITY.

Regards and Gratitude.

Ajay

Sleeping at Everest Base Camp

I just wanted to say thank you for making our trek to Everest Base camp such an Amazing experience! I know this has changed my life! Because of your awesome guides and their great support I was able to accomplish something I never thought I'd do.
I wanted to share something with you that I shared with our team after we got back to Lukla. 9 yrs ago I was in a wheelchair and  diagnosed with Chronic Fibromyalgia. I went to the Mayo clinic in Arizona and was told I would never walk again!! I remained in a wheelchair for nearly 2 years until I decided I wasn't going to accept that fate! I'd struggled with many medical problems through out my life including 37 surgeries.
So I share this with you because I feel that with the support of you and your team you helped make a life time dream come true for me! With all the support  and care and personal attention we get with your team while trekking to base camp gave  us the encouragement to finish and reach that goal that we came so far across the world to Reach!! So thank you for helping make this possible for me! And for helping me attain something that will change my life Forever!!!  Sincerely Jen Smith
