If you have chosen a lower end trek, then you will have more expenses that what we are suggesting. The amount of extras will vary depending on your itinerary and time spent on the ground in Tanzania.
This will also depend on inclusions and exclusions on your specific itinerary. Here are some additional expenses you will and may incur while in Arusha and on the way to the gate and exiting Kilimanjaro National Park.

Visa Entry: USD $50/ $100 For a 90 day visa, depends on Nationality
Meals in Arusha: USD $10 – $15 per meal approximately
Tips – Given at the end of the trek on the mountain: USD $300
Internet: Free in restaurants in Arusha
Power Bank Charge: Free at the hotel. No charging on the mountain
Souvenirs: $50+
Beer as the exit the National Park: $3 per drink
Insurance: This will depend on the amount of cover you are looking for.
Some Additional Information
You should use water purification tablets in the 4/5 liters of water you will be drinking each day. Avoiding water borne illness on the trek is imperative! You will need to bring these with you.
Bottled water (plastic) has been outlawed in Kilimanjaro National Park. Therefore, you will not be able to purchase bottled water anywhere along the trail. You will want to make sure that you have adequate amounts of water purification tablets with you for the entire trek.
Kilimanjaro – A Geological Paradise
Please be respectful of this geological paradise. Please follow the Leave No Trace policy while in the mountains. Everything you bring in to the mountains, you MUST bring back out! Try and use our portable toilets. If you need to go to the bathroom on the trail please collect toilet paper in a baggie and dispose it when you arrive into camp.
