2). Have quality food, equipment & experience

Excellent food is needed to be available, helping you each day on the mountains giving the right balance for the days activity. We have developed a menu that perfect for your Kilimanjaro climb. We only use quality mountain hard wear equipment.

3). You need a proper training plan in place

We believe that strength and condition along with more acclimatization are the key ingredients for a successful Kilimanjaro climb. Read more about our training advice. After your base phase of training, you need to be training with a weighted back pack building the weight you are carrying over a long period of time. (This will depend on the individual) You should also do a fitness test to see what heart rate zones you personally need to be training in to maximize your strength, endurance and ability to slowly develop your training.

4). Pick the right acclimatization schedule for you

In my opinion after leading 20+ climbs on the mountain over 5,6,7 and 8 days. I have also climbed all the routes up the mountain. I only recommend 8 day on the Lemosho route. Yes,  if you have been to altitude before and performed well you could consider a 6 or 7 day climb. Although I would not recommend it.  Always remember there is no one size fits all when it comes to anything in life. So if you want to be safer, and give yourself the best chance at success you need to pick 8 days for your Kilimanjaro climb.
